About the Club

Chelmsford Table Tennis Club (CTTC) was formed in May 2007 following a decision at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) to change the Club name due to the Club’s current location.  The Club was previously called Baddow Village Table Tennis Club (BVTTC) [April 1982 – May 2007] and before that was called the Great Baddow Table Tennis Club.  The Club’s first Chairman, appointed at the may 2007 AGM, was Colin Gooday and is a post that Colin still holds.

As with many private member clubs CTTC has enjoyed its ups and downs over the years. It has however been able to consistently offer a "Club Night" where all members and guests can come to play table tennis on a purely social level. Visitors and potential new recruits have also always been welcome at these sessions, held on a Friday evening, on a "come and try" basis. CTTC is one of the few clubs in the Chelmsford area to consistently offer this facility and it has helped to maintain the family friendly atmosphere that the club has.

The Club is a member of the Chelmsford & District Table Tennis League (C&DTTL) and through it affiliated to the Essex County Table Tennis Association (ECTTA).  CTTC is also affiliated to the English Table Tennis Association through the PremierClub Scheme and is currently registered as an Advanced Level PremierClub.

Since the Club was formed the Club and its members have won a number of League, Cup and Individual Competitions, all of which are listed on the Club’s Honours Page of the Website.

Being a family Club, CTTC has always been keen to promote table tennis among young people.  It encourages junior members and has a reduced membership fee structure to support that.  Currently it has a thriving and growing junior section.  Along with reduced membership fee structures there are regular coaching sessions held on a Friday evening at the Chelmsford Sport & Athletics Centre starting at 19:00, for more information, please visit our Coaching Pages.

As a private members club we are governed by our constitution and decision of our members in General Meeting, with the AFM being held in mid May.  The Club is prudently managed, preparing annual audited accounts to 30 April, which are made available to all members and approved at the AGM.

All in all Chelmsford Table Tennis Club is a good club to belong to. If you would like to know more about participating or joining the Club please contact the Club's General Secretary Ryan Pitt on 0844 245 11 95 or
